The International Collaborative Symposium 2017


The Faculty of Dentistry of Niigata University, Japan and Prince of Songkla University, Thailand have the pleasure to announce the official call for scientific abstracts and papers for oral and poster presentation during the the International Collaborative Symposium for “Human Resource Development towards International Initiative” Project 2017, which will be held at The Manathai Koh Samui Hotel, Samui Island – Thailand on February 11th – 12th, 2017.

The symposium will offer innovative multidisciplinary programs in which eminent international and local speakers will discuss the latest evidence-technologies to tackle today’s dental challenges.


Abstracts must be submitted in English no later than January 6th, 2017 in the form of soft copy via email to The abstract submitted should never been published in any other publication. There are no restrictions on the number of abstracts you may submit. The abstract(s) may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.

The Scientific Committee will review and short-list all received abstracts after deadline. Final confirmation of acceptance of the abstracts will be emailed by January 10th, 2017. Since the oral presentations are limited, the scientific committee reserves the rights to select the appropriate abstracts for oral presentation. The accepted abstracts that were not selected for oral presentation will be automatically switched to poster presentation.

Abstract Content:

  • The title not more than 15 words, brief, specific, and informative.
  • Name of the author, affiliation/organization to which the author(s) belongs to, qualifications and email address.
  • Text of the abstract (should not exceed 250 words):
    • Research Report:
      • Brief introduction;
      • The purpose of study;
      • Description of Materials and methods;
      • Summary of results with data and supporting statistics; and
      • Conclusion
    • Case Study of Clinical Practice:
      • The abstracts of clinical practice case studies should summarize pertinent history, physical findings, laboratory data, management description, and conclusion.
    • Literature reviews
      • The literature reviews of the recent advancement in sciences and technologies in dentistry.
  • KEY WORDS: You may select up to three keywords and are required to select at least one.

The type font must be Arial 12 points sent electronically (MS Word or Text File).

References are arranged according to the Vancouver system. The citations in the text are written as superscript using arabic numerals, and in the order of appearance in the text. The reference list is at the end of the text in numeric sequence.

TABLE AND GRAPH: table(s) and graph(s) are numbered in the order of appearance and are given a title for each table and graph.


The type font must be Arial 12 points (MS Word or Text File), with the margin of 3 cm each, and not more than 10 pages of A4 paper (210 X 297 mm). The paper should be written in english and sent electronically to :

 Presentation format:

  • Oral presentation:
    • The time allocated for oral presentation is 15 minutes, to include a 10 minutes presentation and 5 minutes discussion.
    • All oral presentation should be presented in English
    • Computer and LCD projector will be available for Power Point Presentation
  •  Poster presentations should be in English and will be limited to 90 x 120 cm poster board (approximate size). Authors are requested to mount their posters from 00 – 15.00, and be prepared to present their poster at 16.35 pm – 17.30 on February 11th, 2017.
  • Use graphs, charts and illustrations as much as possible. Minimize use of text and tables.
  • Use large bold lettering for readability
  • Graphic poster presentations should be readable from 2m away.
  • Color will enhance poster readability and attractiveness.



Authors of accepted abstracts/papers should register and submit the application form ( later than January 17th, 2017 to be fully accepted as presenter and the abstract or full paper printed in program book/proceedings.
